MET Homework

This was a very interesting day because I got out of my house this weekend and decided to culture myself with a tour around the MET museum. Once i walked in I decided to go into an area I wouldn't normally go to. While exploring I bumped into this statute and the name of the sculpture was the Eleven Headed Kannon
The ten heads on top represent the ten stages of enlightenment and was made of wood with lacquer, gold leaf and metal decoration. This Bodhisattva was made between the fourteenth century. During my walk around the MET opened my eyes to a world of possibly with art because this time I was able to spend a full day and enjoy art and not be in a rush. Also during my visit I've got to learn new things and different cultures that i would never have thought to venture out to. This stood out to me because its something I wouldn't normally pick and look at but this experience was about learning new things and it really caught my eye, due to the fact that it has 11 heads and has a creative background to it. Also what caught my eye was the religion behind the statue and the way it stood tall and had these jewels on its right hand.
